I’m teaching a five-week class called “Personal Essay 1: You in 1200 words” that runs on Saturdays, 11:00am to 2:00pm, from September 29 to October 27. Here’s the link.
Contrary to what it says, there are plenty of spaces left. The code “teacherspet” provides $50 off and “teasherspet5wkplan” will work for $50 off payment plans. Writing Pad, who runs the classes, found me through my New York Times’ Modern Love article. I’ve also written for Woman’s Day, Good Housekeeping, Elle Decor, etc. (God, I hate self promoting!) If you know someone who might be interested, please let them know!
In other news, I’m sorry I haven’t been posting, but I’ve started a Masters of Fine Arts in Writing. It is hard to get back into being a student! But the classes are already helping with my own essay-writing class. And, as always, I’m working on my book which I hope to actually finish within the year.
I’ve gone off social media (though I haven’t taken down my twitter page) for mental health reasons. I post so rarely and I no longer worry about the Fear of Missing Out if I don’t have to see what I’m missing. Plus, I have too much reading to do to see what everyone’s eating or to keep deleting friend requests from creepy catfishers.
I do have new adventures to tell you about, including a two and a half week tour of Eastern Europe. And the ignominy of getting abandoned by an alleged friend on the floor of a stranger’s house in Germany. Yup, I’m working on another personal essay.
I hope to be back with more musings on loneliness and the search for love at middle-age. Thank you so much for reading,
